This app takes only minutes to learn, but the built-in features make this a very powerful tool. You can quickly turn an ordinary snapshot into an facinating story. I use this app by itself often, but I have also added this to my photo-editing workflow. It plays nicely with my other apps. If you are a beginner or a pro this will be something you can use immediately.

Focus 2 is a great app for those seeking that high quality foreground focus. It’s capibilities are on par with that of Adobe Photoshop or a super expensive zoom lens and thanks to this app they are achievable through this very affordable app. In all, a must have for amateur photographer.

Regarding Focus 2: I just tried this software for the first time…. It is so simple to use and the results are phenomenal! I don’t know who to thank for this tool, but I surely want to thank someone!

I don’t even know how to use 10% of my Fujitsu Fujifilm camera. But, with Focus 2 I can create lovely family photos that make me look like I know what I am doing. Easy to use, but again I am probably only pushing this app to 15% of its potential.

jjust purchased this program and for the price, I’m really impressed..Seems to work really well..It’s really good to finish off a picture that you’ve edited with some other program..

This app seems pretty straight forward and does what it claims. I will admit that I did not intuitively understand how to “Drop a photo here” (the only instruction on the apps opening screen) and I was frustrated that there was no text or visual guide to explain that initial step… (Yes, I’m an slow geezer)... But it didn’t take me long to figure out that I can open the source file (where the original photo is saved) to drag and drop the photo, (why can’t I select the file in Finder?). Once the photo opens in Focus 2, the remaining features are quite intuitive and easy to use. Choosing options for saving the edited photo is still a bit perplexing… (I am trying to understand the implications of each option in terms of disk usage and best practices for photo file management). For now, my saved edits go drectly into my dropbox folder to become easily accesible to my jewelry website.

I shoot portrait so the ability to used it as a plug-in in Photoshop is essential for my workflow. Beside this app is easy and simple to use, adding the final touch to my photo it’s like a breeze.

Focus 2 & the focus 2 Pro Demo both work fine as long as I export as web or email sized file. But I print large 13” x 19” bird photos. Whenever I try to export my finished photo for use in Photoshop or other editing program or just to save as a jpeg or Raw, the FocusExporter crashes my Mac (according to my crash log). No recovery possible. Completely frozen. Have to shut down and try again, but no luck after multiple tries. If I use their option to export in a reduced file size for web or email, no problem. Except that I need a larger file size! I have reported this to the MacPhun Support team this week. No reply so far, but I am hopeful. BTW, this does not happen with MacPhun’s Intesify Pro or Noiseless Pro or Tonality Pro, only with Focus 2 and the Focus 2 Pro Demo. I am only persevering with getting Focus 2 to work, because I like what it does and I find it useful, but this crashing issue is a killer. FYI: I am running Yosemite 10.10.3. No other app or program has ever caused my Mac to crash completely. Usually I can "Force Quit" a bothersome program, but not Focus 2! Come on, MacPhun Support Team give me a clue. Fingers crossed for a quick & easy solution. I want to be able to give this app 5 stars (at the moment, can only give 3 stars).

Whenever I try to edit a picture, as soon as I select one of the main aperture tools (i.e. Portrait, Nature, etc), the image disappears. How can I choose the settings for the focusing when I can’t see my photo? Completely useless until this gets fixed.

Whenever I try to focus with a different style the image changes sizes and doesn’t work. Just a heads up if you update. I’m sure they will fix at some point.

Purchased the app and it does not work. I can import a photo but when I apply one of the settings (potrait or nature for example) my photo disapears and I can only see the grid. This may be a great app but it does not work on OS X El Capitan.

Hey, what’s going on guys?! Why you’re selling this app and not updating it? On El Capitan the app always crashes when selecting one of styles. Please fix it!

Just installed it and it opens, but the picture that I am attempting to process shows up cartoonish and upside down. Takes a minute for any kind of button action to happen and when I try to adjust the settings for a button, nothing at all happens. I have nothing else of any major CPU resources running and have gone through and stopped processes to test. Does not run on this platform at this point. Beware. Says it supports it, but does not. I would love it if it worked.

Running on a 2015 5K Mac with 16 MB of RAM and the 3.3 GHZ Core i5 processor. The photo loaded only shows on the crop option. THe support page on the MacPhun web site is not funstional for Focus - the links don’t work.

This app will not work on Mac OS X 11 “El Capitan” ...

i just bought the app and installed it on my Macbook. using any style the photo turns black with cartoonsh colors, i removed and reinstall, same result.

Loading images turns them straight black and unviewable and uneditable. Same results on both of my Macs, each plenty powerful enough to run this software w/El Capitan.

App was working fine under Yosemite but no longer works under El Capitan… Hope they update the app soon...

Unusable on El Capitan.

They want to sell me te CK apps but at an ok discount. Don’t buy this app as it no longer works. The others seem to work for me still but this one from them seems to be broken and they don’t seem to interested in updating it for the new mac elcapitan system.
